Introducing my new painting series: New World Order.

The first work in this series is now complete — and it may be the most personally meaningful I have painted yet.

The series draws on moments in history when a new world order unfolds as the old one disappears. This happens through twin processes playing out simultaneously across our world: forces of integration and disintegration, of light and darkness, of construction and collapse.

Look around. It is not hard to see both at work.

This first painting holds that tension without resolving it. Gold — ancient, luminous, irresistible — presses against weathered darkness. Crimson lines fracture through the surface like fault lines, or like veins. The architectural forms at the lower edge suggest a civilisation caught at the threshold: still recognisable, but being redrawn.

I painted a moment — the one we are living through.
